If love knew no colour
If love knew no race
If love saw no age gap
If love saw no face
If love chose no religion
If love was not 'sin'
Then love would see others
Only from within.
If love paid no mind
To politics or borders
If love could just love
Without barking orders.
If love was let be
If love was not judged
Then maybe love so often
wouldn't be begrudged.
If love had no class
No money and no price
Then love could spread,
Turn Earth to paradise.
If love could let go
If love was not posessive
If love could set your soul free
If love was not aggressive.
If love bore no resemblance
To power and control
If love didn't use
another to be whole.
If love wasn't addicted
to texts, emails and screens
Then maybe nowadays love
wouldn't be tearing at the seams.
If we could love freely
and see we're all connected
there wouldn't be injustice
still to be corrected.
If love could find its voice
If love could stand united
Then love would flow openly
Not be so short sighted.
If love could be equal
If love brought no shame
Maybe we could all
Learn to love again.
